PHOENIX HEAT. REAL HYDRATION NEED.
200 bottles. Every training day.
During the heart of the Phoenix summer, Old School Boxing can distribute approximately 200 bottles of water per training day—about five 40-count cases. Using a five-day training week, that equals roughly 1,000 bottles each week and 4,000 bottles in a four-week month.
That four-month summer estimate equals approximately 400 cases of 40-count bottled water. Phoenix heat supports the need for sustained hydration well beyond a short summer window: National Weather Service 1991–2020 climate normals show Phoenix averages 111 days per year at 100°F or hotter, with the average first 100°F day on May 2 and the average last on October 5.
Inside our boxing facility, temperatures can reach 110°F or higher during summer. Athletes train hard, sweat heavily and need reliable access to drinking water. The Water Fund helps make sure hydration is available during training without asking a young athlete to pay for a bottle.
